George Mason men’s volleyball great Shaun Powell (’06) has been selected into the EIVA’s 2020 Hall of Fame class.
Powell was a four-time letter winner for the Patriots. His mark of 1,537 career kills and 4.9 kills per set are both the best in program history. In 2005, Powell’s 39 kills versus Purdue Fort-Wayne remains the most recorded kills in a single match in Mason history. Powell’s 512 career digs ranks him 11th in program history (all-era) as well. The 2006 NCAA All-American led the Patriots in kills (470) and kills per set (5.22) in his final season.
After his time with the Patriots, Powell played professionally for three seasons in Denmark and Germany. He returned to his native Toronto, Canada, and is now Technical Director for the Titans Volleyball Association, while also coaching a U17/18 team.
